Christmas is a great
holiday and who doesn’t love it? I suppose those who are alone or have lost a
loved one or even those who have bad memories may not enjoy it as most folks. This post is going to be a positive one on
Christmas though because I do enjoy this time of year. For me it’s a time of year when you can show generosity and
good will towards those who are less fortunate. A time also to be
thankful for all has and reflects upon the birth of Jesus.
I am thinking of
purchasing a very tall tree this year! Since our new home has 20 foot ceilings,
anything shorter may get lost and not stand up to such a grand room. When
selecting a tree, it’s always important to consider the height and size of the
room it’s going in! The weather
outside is frightful today, it’s
cloudy and rainy but I don’t mind it at all because that’s the kind of weather I expect in December!
My birthday is a week
before Christmas and appropriately I was name Carol. People always ask me if I
get short changed because it falls so close to Christmas. My answer is no. I
have never received a Christmas AND
birthday present combined. I guess I have some amazing friends and family! I
don’t really mind it because it’s just another cause for celebration leading up
to Christmas.
Our street is filled
with Christmas lights on houses, wreaths, the smell of fireplaces, and the
joyous laughter of little children. All
of these contribute to the overall mood during the Holidays and one I have
grown fond of over the years. It is also a time for family. Whether your children are still living
at home with you or not, gathering together with them is a special time of year.
Time just goes by so
fast though. It seems like yesterday we
were putting out our tree and decorating with our ornaments. Little did we know
this time last year, we would be
relocating to a new state and Celebrating Christmas 2014 in a new home. I
suppose deep down inside I always knew I wasn’t meant to stay in California and
we’ve been so happy in our new home that it has been a tremendous blessing for
all of us!
